Geatain evaluated the design, installation, startup and commissioning of the two cogeneration systems to verify compliance with NYSERDA requirements.

Geatain provided commissioning oversight services for two cogeneration systems for two different large New York City Hotels. For the project, Geatain was responsible for maintaining the issues log, performing final design review services, compiling construction checklists, determining appropriate test procedures and providing a final commissioning report to the New York State Energy and Research Development Authority (NYSERDA). Commissioning is a collaborative process for planning, delivering, and operating equipment to operate as the owner and designer intended. Geatain was responsible to:

HOTEL

  • Define and maintain a clearly stated set of measureable integrated system performance requirements throughout the design and construction of the project;

  • Verify and document compliance with these requirements at each milestone;

  • Establish a clear set of tasks, deliverables, and schedule milestones for every member of the team to drive equipment delivery to a successful conclusion;

  • Demonstrate and document effective integrated system performance through a rigorous process of system testing;

  • Verify that operation and maintenance personnel and occupants are properly trained; and

  • Provide documentation, training tools and equipment performance metrics that allow the owner to sustain optimal performance over the life of the equipment.
